⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic value, great food and brilliant staff!
We chose from the Pub Classics tonight – I had the chicken gyros and the battle axe had the mushroom bourguignon pie, and both were excellent. The food was great quality, fresh and full of flavour, and it’s absolutely fantastic value for money – such great portions at a brilliant price! The only very small gripe was that the pastry on the pie was a tiny bit hard, but it didn’t ruin the meal at all.
We also have to mention how amazing the staff were! the battle axe has a red pepper allergy, and she really put the server through their paces asking lots of questions and double-checking everything – they were so patient, super helpful, really friendly, and even had a great sense of humour about it all. They made sure everything was safe and absolutely fine, which gave us total peace of mind. They honestly couldn’t have been better.
Overall a top-notch experience, delicious food, great prices and the loveliest team – we’ll definitely be coming back!

Great location on a main road and car park is just down a side street. The atmosphere was lovely and Stephen was helpful, funny and made the day. The Sunday roasts were big, well presented, tasted lovely and all cooked to perfection. I had the chicken and my husband had the beef both were lovely and plentiful. We then tried desserts with my husband going for the rum and raisin cake & ice cream he loved it. I had a trio of ice creams all lovely flavours too. We cannot compliment the Oak enough what a lovely place to eat with a great atmosphere, great value and no waiting around for food it was spot on glad we found you
